building since 1869

Now serving communities and partners across 24 states.

The Foundation of Everything We Build

In 1898 the Jones family mortgaged their homes, hauled timber through a mountain blizzard, and helped build Old Main so Cedar City would not lose its school. Generations later a Jones family member built the science building on that same campus. And when Southern Utah University and Southwest Tech faced a student housing crisis, JP Jones Companies invested $40 million and built four buildings to solve it.

The tools have changed. The scale has grown. But the reason this family builds has never wavered. When Southern Utah communities need something built, JP Jones Companies shows up. That is not a marketing promise. It is a 170 year track record.

Today that same commitment drives everything we do. We build residential communities and custom homes for families putting down roots in Southern Utah and across the country. We deliver complex commercial construction for businesses, institutions, and hospitality developers across the region and beyond. We develop land and plan communities from the ground up. We keep projects moving with excavation, HVAC, and site services. Through our trucking and logistics operations we move freight across 24 states coast to coast. From Cedar City to St. George to Lehi and across the country, the JP Jones name carries one standard. Do the work right, take care of people, and build something that lasts.

A Family of Companies Built to Serve Communities

We are not outside developers who found a promising market. We are Southern Utahns who have been building this region since 1869. That distinction shapes everything about how we work, who we partner with, and what we are willing to put our name on. From residential construction and commercial building to land development, HVAC, excavation, logistics, farming, ranching, and hospitality, every company under the JP Jones name is connected by one shared standard. Do quality work, take care of people, and build for the long term.

Utah Home Base.

National Footprint.

Iron County, Utah is where the Jones family put down roots in 1870 as some of Utah’s original pioneers. What began as one family’s commitment to building a community has grown into a portfolio of businesses serving customers and development partners across 24 states.

From construction and real estate development to logistics, land stewardship, and hospitality, the JP Jones name carries the same standard of accountability and quality no matter where the work takes us.

We Build Communities. We Also Protect Them.

Growth and stewardship are not opposites. From water conservation and responsible land use to preserving the farming, ranching, and cultural identity of the communities we serve, JP Jones Companies has always believed that how you build matters as much as what you build. That philosophy goes back seven generations and it guides every project we take on today.

Ready to Build Something That Lasts?

Whether you are developing land, expanding into a new market, or looking for a partner with the local knowledge and community credibility to make your project succeed, we are here. Seven generations of work in Southern Utah means we take every conversation seriously.

WCK’s work is guided by our belief that food is a universal human right. Both in the communities we serve and in our daily workspace, we uphold and rely on our values to direct us toward fulfilling our shared purpose.

Without peace, development gains do not hold. Without peace, delivering humanitarian aid risks further suffering. Without peace, people have more difficulty exercising agency, seizing opportunity, and realizing their full potential. Peace enables trust and provides the foundation for collaboration to solve complex problems. It allows people to look past differences, have difficult conversations, take shared risks, find common ground, and invest in pathways towards a shared future.
